“To provide for the publication by the Secretary of Health and Human Services of physical activity recommendations for Americans.”
No CRS summary available for this bill.
This section directs the Secretary of Health and Human Services (HHS) to publish, by December 31, 2029, and at least every 10 years thereafter, a report providing evidence-based physical activity recommendations for the U.S. general public and subgroups (e.g., children, individuals with disabilities), to be considered by relevant federal agencies in health programs. It further requires HHS to publish update reports five years after the initial report and at least every 10 years thereafter, detailing evidence-based practices and focusing as needed on specific groups or issues. Federal agencies proposing differing recommendations must consider these reports; the section preserves existing federal research authorities and prohibits any binding physical fitness standards on individuals.
