H.R. 619 — Nor Rel Muk Wintu Nation Federal Recognition Act

This section extends federal recognition to the Nor Rel Muk Wintu Nation and applies to the tribe and its members all U.S. laws (including regulations) of general applicability to federally recognized Indian tribes (including the Indian Reorganization Act, 25 U.S.C. 5101 et seq.), unless inconsistent with the Act. The tribe and members become eligible for all federal services and benefits available to federally recognized tribes, regardless of the absence of a reservation or members' residence, with Trinity County, California, designated as the service area for delivery of such services. As a condition of recognition, services, and benefits, the tribe must submit to the Secretary of the Interior within 18 months of enactment a membership roll of enrolled individuals (determined per the tribe's constitution, revised September 19, 2020), which the tribe thereafter maintains exclusively. The tribe's governing body consists of the body in place on the date of enactment or any successor elected per the constitution. Nothing in the Act affects the tribe's treaty rights or reserved rights.
