H.R. 6286 — Indo-Pacific Partner and Ally Tariff Repeal Act

This section expresses the sense of Congress that (1) the United States should collaborate with Indo-Pacific allies and partners to establish a collective defense against the Chinese Communist Party’s nonmarket practices and coercive economic, military, and gray-zone actions; (2) imposing tariffs on such allies and partners undermines that goal while inflicting costs on U.S. consumers and businesses; and (3) the tariffs established by Executive Order 14257 (90 Fed. Reg. 15041) and Executive Order 14326 (90 Fed. Reg. 37963) on Indo-Pacific partners and allies are counterproductive to America’s security and economic needs and should be repealed.

This section terminates, effective on the date of enactment, any tariffs established under Executive Order 14257 (90 Fed. Reg. 15041) or Executive Order 14326 (90 Fed. Reg. 37963) with respect to 40 specified countries and jurisdictions (e.g., Australia, India, Japan, South Korea, Vietnam).
