H.R. 6288 — Caring for Grieving Families Act of 2025

This section establishes a prohibition on excessive cost sharing for prenatal services (such as imaging tests and office visits) furnished prior to a miscarriage or stillbirth under group health plans or group or individual health insurance coverage that use bundled payments for birth-related items and services. Specifically, if the bundled payment is not made due to the pregnancy loss, cost sharing requirements (including deductibles, coinsurance, and copayments) for such prenatal services may not exceed the amount that would have applied to the bundled payment had the loss not occurred. The requirement applies to plan years beginning on or after January 1, 2027.
