H.R. 6300 — Grasslands Grazing Act of 2025

This section revises section 402(a) of the Federal Land Policy and Management Act of 1976 (FLPMA, 43 U.S.C. 1752(a)) to expand eligibility for grazing leases and permits to National Forest System (NFS) land (from lands within National Forests), as defined in 16 U.S.C. 1609(a). (The NFS includes all national forest lands reserved or withdrawn from the public domain or acquired by the Forest Service; national grasslands and land utilization projects administered under title III of the Bankhead-Jones Farm Tenant Act (7 U.S.C. 1010 et seq.); and other Forest Service-administered lands, waters, or interests.) It specifies that the amendment does not modify or affect (1) the applicability to national grasslands of any other FLPMA provision (43 U.S.C. 1701 et seq.), (2) title III of the Bankhead-Jones Farm Tenant Act, or (3) section 11 of the Public Rangelands Improvement Act of 1978 (43 U.S.C. 1907).
