H.R. 635 — WaterSMART Access for Tribes Act

This section authorizes the Secretary of the Interior to reduce or waive the non-Federal cost share (and increase the Federal share accordingly) for Bureau of Reclamation water management improvement grants or agreements awarded to Indian tribes if the Secretary determines that the non-Federal share would impose financial hardship on the tribe. (As background, these grants assist eligible applicants in Reclamation states, Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico with water conservation, efficiency, markets, management, advanced treatment, Endangered Species Act compliance, and climate/drought resiliency activities.)
