This section requires each state agency administering the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) to provide the Secretary of Agriculture, upon request and as a condition of program participation, with recipient-level data, case file information, or other program data necessary for SNAP administration, oversight, integrity, or enforcement. State agencies must transmit such data in a form, manner, frequency, and timeframe prescribed by the Secretary (not later than 30 days after the request, or sooner for urgent program integrity, audit, or investigative purposes), with noncompliance resulting in potential withholding or suspension of federal administrative funds. The Secretary must protect data privacy under applicable federal laws, including the Privacy Act of 1974, and may disclose it to federal or state law enforcement agencies for relevant enforcement purposes.
