H.R. 6574 — Loan Equity for Advanced Professionals Act

This section revises the loan limits for Federal Direct Unsubsidized Stafford Loans for graduate and professional students, effective July 1, 2026, by (1) increasing the maximum annual amount to $50,000 (from $20,500); and (2) increasing the maximum aggregate amount—in addition to amounts borrowed for undergraduate education and for certain programs of study—to $200,000 (from $138,500 total including undergraduate loans).
