H.R. 6643 — American Border Story Memorial Act

This section authorizes The American Border Story (TABS) to establish a commemorative work on federal land in the District of Columbia and its environs to honor U.S. citizens and legal residents who died as victims of crimes committed by individuals unlawfully present in the United States. The section requires compliance with the Commemorative Works Act (notwithstanding 40 U.S.C. §8903(c)), prohibits the use of federal funds for establishment expenses, and directs deposit of any excess funds with the Secretary of the Interior (for the account under 40 U.S.C. §8906(b)(3)) or, upon authority expiration, a separate National Park Foundation account.
