H.R. 6652 — U.S. Vets of the FAS Act

This section requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to expeditiously enter into agreements with the governments of the Freely Associated States (i.e., the Federated States of Micronesia, Republic of the Marshall Islands, and Republic of Palau) to furnish health services to veterans there, including at a minimum telehealth and mail-order pharmacy services. The section directs the Secretary to initiate outreach within 30 days of enactment, execute agreements and begin services within one year of enactment, and submit quarterly reports on implementation, costs, and barriers to the congressional Committees on Veterans’ Affairs and Appropriations; it also amends 38 U.S.C. 111(h)(1) to require beneficiary travel payments under that section if any such payments are made in a fiscal year (applicable to travel occurring on or after one year after enactment).
