H.R. 6653 — Dye Free Procurement Act

This section prohibits the head of an executive agency from entering into or renewing a contract for the procurement of food containing a covered color additive—specifically, Red No. 40, Yellow No. 5, Yellow No. 6, Green No. 3, Blue No. 1, Blue No. 2, Citrus Red No. 2, or Orange B—and directs prioritization of food without any color additives where available and practicable. The provision takes effect 6 months after enactment and applies to contracts entered into on or after that date.
