H.R. 6665 — Consolidated Interim Storage Facility Restriction Act of 2025

This section prohibits the Nuclear Regulatory Commission, beginning on the date of enactment and notwithstanding the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, from issuing licenses for (1) interim storage of spent nuclear fuel or high-level radioactive waste at facilities other than an operating civilian nuclear power reactor that generated the fuel or waste or a federally owned interim storage facility; or (2) long-term storage or permanent disposal of such fuel or waste except at a federally owned repository. The section nullifies any such licenses in effect as of enactment.
