H.R. 6751 — Sunset for the 2001 Authorization for Use of Military Force Act

This section declares Congress's finding that the Authorization for Use of Military Force (AUMF; Public Law 107-40; 50 U.S.C. 1541 note), enacted on September 18, 2001, has been used to justify a broad and open-ended authorization for the use of military force, an interpretation inconsistent with Congress's constitutional authority to declare war and make all laws necessary and proper for executing powers vested in the U.S. government.
