H.R. 6772 — Affordable Housing Through Common-Sense Standards Act

This section directs the Comptroller General of the United States to conduct a study on the costs and benefits of establishing a federal uniform residential building code—including whether it could (1) reduce local government approval times for new construction, (2) reduce U.S. residential construction costs, or (3) increase the quality and affordability of residential housing—and to submit a report to Congress not later than one year after enactment.
