H.R. 6801 — American Citizenship Healthcare Integrity Act of 2025

This section establishes as a Medicare condition of participation for hospitals, critical access hospitals, and rural emergency hospitals (1) a requirement, beginning 180 days after enactment, to ask on each patient intake form (or equivalent) whether the individual is a U.S. citizen or national and, not later than one year after enactment and annually thereafter, to report to the Secretary for the previous year the number of non-citizens or non-nationals served and the dollar amount of uncompensated care provided to them; and (2) a requirement for the Secretary, not later than one year after enactment and annually thereafter, to publicly release a report for the previous year on the aggregate dollar amount of such uncompensated care (based on provider reports) and the amount of Medicare and Medicaid expenditures that would not have been made absent such care.
