H.R. 6810 — MAIL Theft Act of 2025

This section directs the Attorney General, Secretary of Homeland Security, Postmaster General, and heads of relevant agencies to develop, within 180 days of enactment, a strategy to (1) improve information sharing on organized postal crime networks among specified federal officials, (2) assist state and local law enforcement in compiling evidence for prosecutions of organized postal crime, and (3) increase cooperation and information sharing with state and local government agencies. It requires those officials to submit a joint report on the strategy to designated House and Senate committees within 180 days of enactment and directs the Comptroller General to publish a report on private sector-law enforcement coordination to deter and investigate organized postal crime within one year of enactment. The section defines "organized postal crime" (i.e., coordinated illegal acquisition of postal mail for interstate sale or distribution), "organized postal crime network," "relevant agency" (i.e., any agency as defined in 5 U.S.C. §551 determined by specified officials to have a role in investigations), and "relevant committees" (i.e., specified House and Senate Judiciary, Homeland Security, and Oversight committees).
