H.R. 6811 — Postal Suspension Transparency Act

This section directs the U.S. Postal Service to develop and maintain a publicly available website with an interactive tool providing information on covered post offices (i.e., those with operations temporarily suspended due to emergencies under Postal Service Handbook PO-101 subchapter 61, or successor policy). For each covered post office, the website must list the street address, suspension effective date and reason, alternative services (including curbside delivery requests), nearest retail facility location and hours, and estimated resumption date (to the extent practicable); enable searches by street address, ZIP Code, or post office box; and present data on a sortable, filterable dashboard in an open, structured, bulk-downloadable format. The Postal Service must establish the website not later than one year after enactment.
