H.R. 6845 — S.T.O.P. Illicit Vapes Act

This section establishes a multi-agency task force, co-chaired by the Attorney General and Secretary of Health and Human Services with representatives from the Food and Drug Administration, Department of Justice, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, United States Marshals Service, United States Postal Inspection Service, Federal Trade Commission, Homeland Security Investigations, Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other relevant agencies as appointed by the co-chairs, to develop and implement a strategy for reducing unauthorized e-cigarettes in the market through goals, information sharing, and coordination. The task force meets at least monthly and submits semiannual reports by April 30 and October 31 to the Senate Committees on the Judiciary, Health, Education, Labor, and Pensions, and Appropriations and the House Committees on the Judiciary, Energy and Commerce, and Appropriations detailing agency authorities and actions (e.g., investigations, prosecutions, seizures, forfeitures), recommendations for additional authorities, and collaboration improvements. The task force terminates 10 years after its establishment 30 days after enactment.
