H.R. 6941 — Atmosphere Study Act

This section directs the Secretary of Energy, in coordination with relevant federal and state agencies, to conduct a study within 180 days of enactment identifying negative effects on human health and the environment from covered geoengineering projects (i.e., federally funded or participated-in projects involving deliberate large-scale interventions in the Earth's climate system, such as injecting metal-based aerosols into the atmosphere or spraying sea salt into marine clouds). The Secretary must submit a report on the study results to Congress within one year of completing the study.
