H.R. 6943 — Veterans Burial Allowance and Reimbursement Act of 2026

This section expands eligibility for Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) burial and funeral expense payments (up to $700, as indexed under subsection (c)), body transportation, and plot allowances under 38 U.S.C. §2303 by striking the exclusion for veterans covered by §2307; adding as a new criterion under subsection (a)(2)(A) deceased veterans who die from a service-connected disability or disabilities; and redesignating prior criteria as subparagraphs (B) through (D). It repeals §2307 and makes conforming amendments to §§2303(d), 2308, and 5101.
