H.R. 7061 — Protecting American Energy Security Act of 2026

This section establishes a certification requirement from the Secretary of Energy, in addition to a Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorization order under subsection (a), for any export of natural gas from the United States to a covered nation (as defined in 10 U.S.C. §4872(f)). The certification, which states that such export is in the public interest, remains in effect for one year unless revoked earlier by the Secretary.
