H.R. 7083 — CRUISE Act

This section amends the automobile allowance and adaptive equipment program for certain disabled veterans (38 U.S.C. § 3902)—which provides up to $18,900 (as adjusted) toward the purchase price of an automobile or other conveyance, plus necessary adaptive equipment—to improve payments to sellers by (1) requiring such payments to comply with the Prompt Payment Act (31 U.S.C. § 3903(a)); (2) requiring publication of processing times for any payment not completed within 30 days; (3) centralizing the payment process within VA's Central Office; and (4) requiring development of a process to track and resolve payments outstanding for more than 90 days.
