H.R. 7085 — To amend the Securities Exchange Act of 1934 to repeal certain disclosure requirements related to conflict minerals, and for other purposes.

This section repeals subsection (p) of Section 13 of the Securities Exchange Act of 1934, which requires certain public companies to annually disclose whether products they manufacture or contract to manufacture contain conflict minerals (i.e., cassiterite, columbite-tantalum, gold, wolframite, or their derivatives) originating from the Democratic Republic of the Congo or an adjoining country, along with related due diligence efforts. (Thus, such issuers will no longer be required to file conflict minerals reports with the SEC.) It also strikes Section 1502 of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act—which enacted those requirements—and the related table of contents entry.
