H.R. 7260 — National Cemetery Administration Annual Report Act of 2026

This section requires the Secretary of Veterans Affairs to submit to the House and Senate Committees on Veterans’ Affairs an annual report on National Cemetery Administration (NCA) activities, beginning not later than one year after enactment of the National Cemetery Administration Annual Report Act of 2026. (The NCA operates VA national cemeteries and provides burial benefits—including interments, headstones, markers, medallions, and Presidential memorial certificates—to eligible veterans and certain family members under 38 U.S.C. § 2402(a).) The report must include (1) total interments disaggregated by national cemetery, eligibility category, and type (casketed or cremated); (2) customer satisfaction assessments; (3) maps of national cemeteries and grant recipient state, county, and tribal veterans cemeteries; (4) burial options at each open national cemetery; (5) interments in state, county, and tribal cemeteries; (6) headstones, markers, medallions, and certificates furnished, disaggregated by eligibility category and cemetery; (7) completed major and minor construction projects; (8) planned construction projects for the next fiscal year; (9) unclaimed veterans interments by national cemetery; (10) grants under 38 U.S.C. § 2408 (state cemetery grants) and section 1 of P.L. 116-107 (tribal cemetery grants); (11) details on each grant recipient, amount, and purposes; and (12) other matters deemed appropriate by the Secretary. The reports must be posted on a public VA website in digital form.
