H.R. 7263 — Safe Intersections for Buses and Pedestrians Act

This section directs the Secretary of Transportation, acting through the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) Administrator, to prescribe motor vehicle safety standards not later than one year after enactment requiring all new covered motorcoaches (i.e., buses as defined in 49 CFR 571.3(b)) manufactured for sale in the United States to provide a minimally obstructed forward-facing view from the driver's seat. Such standards may be satisfied using a camera or other technology that expands the driver's forward-facing view or displays obstructed areas, provided it complies with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard 101 (49 CFR 571.101).
