H.R. 7269 — kʷaxʷad tiiɫ ʔiišədčəɫ Act of 2026

This section (1) authorizes the Puyallup Tribe of Indians to withdraw amounts from the permanent trust fund for tribal members—established under the Puyallup Tribe of Indians Settlement Act of 1989 (Public Law 101-41)—pursuant to a management plan approved by the Secretary of the Interior under the American Indian Trust Fund Management Reform Act of 1994 (25 U.S.C. 4001 et seq.); and (2) adds a savings provision clarifying that nothing in the 1989 act prevents the United States from engaging with the Tribe under any federal law enacted after October 21, 1989 (the act's enactment date), on the same basis as other federally recognized Indian tribes.
