H.R. 7334 — National Commission on Robotics Act

This section establishes an independent Commission on American Leadership in Robotics to review advances in robotics related to U.S. economic competitiveness and national security—including domestic and international competitiveness, supply chain risks, workforce development, and strategic partnerships—and to submit an interim report within one year and a final report within two years of establishment to specified congressional committees and the President. The Secretary must establish the Commission within 30 days of enactment; it comprises 18 members (three each appointed by the Speaker of the House, House Minority Leader, Senate Majority Leader, and Senate Minority Leader, and six by the President) who are robotics experts, with appointments due within 45 days of establishment (reducing membership for any unmade appointments); the Speaker and Senate Majority Leader jointly designate the chair, and the House and Senate Minority Leaders jointly designate the vice chair; and members serve for the Commission's life, with vacancies filled as originally appointed. The Commission receives full agency cooperation, including briefings, a departmental liaison, and unreimbursed detailees.
