This section reauthorizes the WISEWOMAN program (i.e., supplemental grants to National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program grantees for cardiovascular disease risk factor screening, health education, and related services for low-income, uninsured, or underinsured women) by rewriting section 1509 of the Public Health Service Act. The section authorizes the Secretary, acting through the CDC Director, to award such grants for (1) additional preventive health services including blood pressure and cholesterol screenings and health education; (2) referrals for medical treatment and follow-up services; and (3) program evaluation through surveillance or monitoring. Eligible women include those receiving National Breast and Cervical Cancer Early Detection Program services and other low-income women meeting Secretary-specified criteria, with services provided by program screening entities or Secretary-approved designees. To carry out the program, $250 million is authorized for FY2027 through FY2031.
