This section directs the Attorney General to award one-year grants to states in amounts of not less than $200,000 and not more than $500,000 to provide technical assistance to state and local (1) law enforcement, (2) prosecutors, (3) judges and court staff, (4) healthcare providers, (5) educators, and (6) agencies designated to coordinate extreme risk protection order implementation. The grants support development of standardized extreme risk protection order (ERPO) training, curriculum, and model implementation materials (i.e., red flag laws authorizing temporary firearm removal from at-risk individuals) to ensure consistent, evidence-based processes nationwide and effective, timely state crisis intervention court proceedings.
