H.R. 7484 — Community Bank Relief Act

This section establishes inflation adjustments for the amount specified in section 921(a)(6)(A) of the Electronic Fund Transfer Act (EFTA) by requiring the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System— (1) prior to the first annual adjustment, to increase that amount by the percentage by which the Consumer Price Index for October 2025 exceeds the Consumer Price Index for October 2009; and (2) not later than July 1, 2026, and January 15 of each year thereafter, to adjust that amount by the annual percentage increase in the Consumer Price Index for October. (The provision concerns reasonable fees and rules for payment card transactions, including debit card interchange fees and routing requirements.)
