H.R. 7546 — To amend title XVIII of the Social Security Act to provide coverage for wigs as durable medical equipment under the Medicare program, and for other purposes.

This section expands the Medicare definition of durable medical equipment to include cranial prostheses (i.e., wigs) certified in writing as medically necessary by a dermatologist, oncologist, or attending physician for a proposed course of rehabilitative treatment or for hair loss caused by a health condition, including autoimmune diseases, cancer, or chemotherapy. It also amends Medicare's general coverage exclusions to deny payment for such prostheses that lack the required certification.
