H.R. 7593 — Reserve Forces Travel Fairness Act

This section provides for reimbursement of motor vehicle rental costs, as part of the travel allowance under 37 U.S.C. §452(j), for members of the uniformed services who travel more than 150 miles for certain training or duty (i.e., typically inactive-duty training for Reserve components) and incur such costs as actual and necessary expenses. Reimbursement covers the entire period of training or duty and a day of travel preceding or following that period. The Secretary of Defense must amend the Joint Travel Regulations for the Uniformed Services accordingly not later than 180 days after enactment.
