H.R. 7597 — Affordable Housing Barriers Transparency Act

This section directs the Secretary of Housing and Urban Development, in the department's annual report to Congress under Section 8 of the Department of Housing and Urban Development Act, to (1) identify significant regulatory barriers to affordable housing, as defined in 42 U.S.C. 12705b (i.e., public policies, such as statutes, ordinances, regulations, or administrative procedures, that jurisdictions must identify in their comprehensive housing affordability strategies under 42 U.S.C. 12705(b)(4)); and (2) discuss and analyze how to reduce or remove such barriers.
