H.R. 7655 — Support for Expectant and Parenting Foster Youth Act

This section expands the purposes of the John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood to include connecting foster youth in eligible families with evidence-based home visiting and support services under the Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program. It also requires states to certify in their program applications that they have processes in place to provide participating youth who are in eligible families with information regarding such services.

This section revises the allowable uses of funds under the John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood to permit a state to provide tailored case management and resource coordination services to youth otherwise eligible for the program who are expectant or parenting, or to use the funds in any manner reasonably calculated to accomplish the program's purposes.

This section delays the effective date of the amendments made by this Act until one year after the date of enactment and applies them to payments under section 477 of the Social Security Act (the John H. Chafee Foster Care Program for Successful Transition to Adulthood) pursuant to plans approved by the Secretary of Health and Human Services on or after that date.
