H.R. 7678 — Gun Owner Registration Information Protection Act

This section prohibits federal agencies from funding or otherwise supporting the establishment or maintenance of state firearm ownership databases (i.e., comprehensive or partial databases of a state or its political subdivision listing firearms lawfully owned or possessed by individuals, or individuals who lawfully own or possess firearms). The prohibition does not apply to databases listing firearms or individuals reported as lost or stolen.
