H.R. 768 — Holocaust Education and Antisemitism Lessons Act

This section directs the Director of the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum to conduct a study on Holocaust education efforts (i.e., educational activities to advance students' awareness of the Holocaust, prevent genocide and bigotry, and study antisemitism) in all States, a nationally representative sample of local educational agencies (LEAs), and a representative sample of public elementary and secondary schools, beginning no later than 180 days after enactment of this Act. The study must determine curriculum requirements and optional programs; summarize standards, implementation status, challenges, training needs, and adoption of museum resources; identify intended outcomes, teaching methods (e.g., project-based learning, trauma-informed materials), instructional materials, disciplines, time allotted, and curriculum comprehensiveness; and examine assessment approaches for student knowledge of the Holocaust and related issues such as antisemitism. Following study completion, the Director must submit a report to Congress no later than the earlier of 180 days after completion or three years after enactment.
