H.R. 7722 — Child Care Integrity Monitoring Act of 2026

This section establishes periodic monitoring of state performance under the Child Care and Development Block Grant Act of 1990, which provides federal funds to states for child care subsidies to support low-income working families. Every three years, the Secretary of Health and Human Services must conduct a comprehensive review of each state's performance and designate as high-risk any state that has (1) a high level of unresolved or repeated adverse audit findings under subsection (b), (2) a high level of unresolved issues under, or repeated failures to carry out, corrective action plans under section 659J(c), or (3) unresolved or repeated findings of noncompliance with the state plan under section 658E(c); high-risk states are subject to additional monitoring as determined by the Secretary.
