H.R. 7735 — Improving Mental Health Support for Servicemembers and Veterans Act

This section directs the Department of Veterans Affairs-Department of Defense Joint Executive Committee (JEC)—which coordinates interagency efforts on servicemember transition, health care sharing, and benefits—to (1) complete an inventory of department programs and processes facilitating access to mental health services across the military-to-civilian transition spectrum, assess their overall effectiveness (including any deficiencies, gaps, inefficiencies, or duplicative programs), and submit a report with recommendations, action plans, milestones, and metrics to the congressional Veterans' Affairs Committees within 180 days of enactment; and (2) review, at least biennially, the joint separation health assessment to validate its questions and recommend whether any should be removed, revised, or added.
