H.R. 7881 — District of Columbia Juror Pay Parity Act

This section establishes fees and expenses for grand and petit jurors serving in the Superior Court of the District of Columbia equivalent to those under 28 U.S.C. 1871 for federal district court jurors (i.e., $50 per day attendance fee, plus up to $10 extra per day in the judge's discretion for petit juror service beyond 10 days or grand juror service beyond 45 days, and a travel allowance at the prescribed mileage rate). It repeals Section 15-718 of the D.C. Official Code as a conforming amendment. The changes apply to fees and expenses paid on or after the first day of the first fiscal year after enactment.
