H.R. 7933 — To amend title 10, United States Code, to expand the authority to provide a wig and treat traction alopecia under the TRICARE program, and for other purposes.

This section expands eligibility for wigs under the TRICARE program (i.e., DOD health care program serving uniformed service members, retirees, and families) to persons entitled to medical care with traction alopecia or alopecia resulting from treatment of a malignant disease (previously, only the latter). It (1) adds traction alopecia to the list of covered reconstructive treatments under TRICARE and (2) directs each Secretary concerned to prescribe regulations by September 30, 2026, on grooming standards and training materials warning Armed Forces members that prolonged use of tightly gathered hairstyles, dyes, and chemical hair products may cause health issues, including traction alopecia.
