H.R. 7961 — H–1Bs for Physicians and the Healthcare Workforce Act

This section exempts aliens seeking H-1B nonimmigrant status for employment (or an offer of employment) in the health care workforce—as defined in section 5101 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act (42 U.S.C. 294q)—from the $100,000 payment requirement imposed by the Presidential Proclamation of September 19, 2025, restricting entry of certain H-1B nonimmigrants. It further prohibits any fees for such aliens exceeding the standard H-1B petition fee.
