H.R. 7982 — Protect World Cup Attendees Act

This section prohibits entities receiving Federal funds under sec. 90005(a)(1)(B) or (C) of P.L. 119-21 from (1) participating in the 287(g) program (i.e., DHS agreements delegating federal immigration enforcement authority to state and local law enforcement) or (2) conducting civil immigration enforcement activities under the Immigration and Nationality Act during the period from 12:01 a.m. on June 11, 2026, to 11:59 p.m. on July 19, 2026, except under exigent circumstances (i.e., imminent risk of death, violence, or physical harm including terrorism; national security threats; immediate arrest or hot pursuit of public safety risks; or destruction of material evidence in a criminal case).
