H.R. 8015 — Incentivizing Cooperation in Immigration Enforcement Act

This section adds to the priority considerations for Community Oriented Policing Services (COPS) grants an applicant from a state or political subdivision that has entered into a 287(g) agreement with the Secretary of Homeland Security (i.e., an agreement under the Immigration and Nationality Act authorizing state and local law enforcement officers to perform certain immigration enforcement functions). (Thus, such applicants receive priority alongside existing categories, such as those reemploying laid-off officers or hiring veterans.)
