H.R. 8048 — AI/AN CAPTA

This section amends the Child Abuse Prevention and Treatment Act (CAPTA) as follows: (1) revises criteria for equitable distribution of assistance under CAPTA and related programs to include Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations, in addition to States (previously States only); and (2) for community-based child abuse prevention grants (i.e., Title II grants to support prevention services), updates cross-references from section 210 to section 209 and revises allocations to provide 5% of appropriated amounts to Indian Tribes and Tribal organizations and 1% to migrant programs (replacing prior 1% allocation).
