This section requires the Secretary of Defense to establish uniform standards for testing and certifying each automatic dependent surveillance-broadcast out (ADS-B Out) transponder system on Department of Defense aircraft operated in U.S. airspace at least once every 90 days. Not later than 180 days after enactment of this Act, and every 180 days thereafter until two years after such date, the Secretary must submit to Congress a report describing such testing and certification conducted during the period covered, including any system failures. Not later than one year and two years after enactment, the Inspector General of the Department of Defense must audit the Secretary's compliance with the testing requirements and submit to Congress a report on the results and a recommendation on extending the reporting and audit requirements.
