H.R. 8155 — Foreign Propaganda Transparency Act

This section revises the conspicuous identification statement that registered agents of foreign principals must place on informational materials transmitted via U.S. mails or interstate or foreign commerce under the Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA). The statement must now also detail, where applicable, whether the foreign principal is supervised, directed, owned, controlled, financed, or subsidized, in whole or in part, by a covered nation (i.e., the People's Republic of China, Russia, Iran, or North Korea) or any other foreign government acting on behalf of, at the direction of, under the control of, or for the benefit of such a covered nation.
