H.R. 8165 — Protein for Every Plate Act of 2026

This section increases funding for commodity purchases under the Emergency Food Assistance Program (TEFAP)—which provides USDA-purchased nutritious commodities to states for distribution by emergency feeding organizations—by adding $200 million in each of FY2026 and FY2027 earmarked for animal protein, in addition to the inflation-adjusted amounts otherwise available for those years.
