This section requires the Commissioner of Social Security, not later than six months after enactment, to ensure that the number of full-time employees at the Social Security Administration (SSA) equals or exceeds the number employed on January 19, 2025. It directs that 75% of hires to meet this staffing level fill specified frontline positions—(1) at SSA field offices; (2) in centers responding to telephone inquiries from beneficiaries; (3) at program service centers; (4) processing or facilitating payments to beneficiaries; (5) at regional field offices; or (6) resolving or adjudicating disability benefits claims or disputes—and that the remaining 25% provide managerial or administrative support to those frontline employees.
