H.R. 8201 — To amend Public Health Service Act to require community health centers to provide behavioral and mental health and substance use disorder services, and for other purposes.

This section expands the definition of required primary health services for health centers (i.e., entities such as federally qualified health centers serving medically underserved populations, including migratory agricultural workers, the homeless, and public housing residents) to include behavioral health, mental health, and substance use disorder services, removing them from additional health services via a conforming amendment striking former subparagraph (A) of 42 U.S.C. 254b(b)(2). This section further provides $700 million for each of FY2027 through FY2031 from the Community Health Center Fund to the Secretary of HHS for enhanced funding to health centers to provide such services.
