H.R. 8252 — Gas Tax Reduction Act

This section establishes a requirement for the Secretary of Transportation to withhold 8% of the amount apportioned to a state under the National Highway Performance Program and Surface Transportation Block Grant Program—the two largest federal-aid highway programs—from the first full fiscal year after enactment if the state's gasoline tax equals or exceeds $0.50 per gallon, and on the first day of each subsequent fiscal year in which that condition holds.
